Muzik-Knightz Anti-Piracy Division
home
Welcome to the Internet anti-Piracy division of Muzik-Knightz for Indian artists and record labels who are serious about tackling the illegal distribution of their music on the internet.

FACT POINT: Muzik- Knightz has been officially running since Oct 2002.

The Asian Music Industry is a dynamic industry that is still growing from strength to strength. Unfortunately, as with all music industries, Asian Music is affected by the violation both copyright and distribution rights. One hurdle that artists need to overcome is that of the internet and how it has become a powerful tool for those who illegally distribute music.

There are multiple ways in which people distribute music via the internet without adequate permissions: using peer-to-peer applications (Napster, Kazaa & DC++); sharing files on dedicated file-share websites; placing files on websites for all to download.

Muzik-Knightz provides the only service to assist artists and record companies to collate resources to be able to tackle the illegal distribution of their material and bring awareness to those who fail to abide by the Copyright and Distribution Rights set when their products are released.

Muzik-Knightz works hand in hand with BPI.Co.UK. Who hold the rights to terminate domain names and subscribed hosting.

FACT POINT: Every 1 website Muzik-Knightz shuts down. 3 more will open. Now that’s a lot of monitoring!!

“Why do we not allow anyone to make our albums available on the internet?”

I have specifically written this for people who ask that question to help them understand the reasons;

Producer Buys expensive equipment to set themselves up with the correct facilities to produce music to a certain level

Record label pays singers to sing them vocals

Record label then send vocals to producers who then spend many hours in producing the music to a satisfactory level.

Producers send track to record label who in return pay the producer for his effort and work

Record label send off album for Duplication, make a music video and market the album.

Record label then release the album hoping people will BUY it, and so forth make a financial gain.

Although most sites have this illegitimate disclaimer saying “These tracks are for promotional use only, please buy the album if you like it” no-one actually does. Then again why should they? If they have it for free already.

It is an illegal offence for anyone to make an mp3 available for free illegal download without the written consent of the record label.

If you think like this, if people do not buy the product, the record label will not be able to pay the producers who make the music and so music will eventually die out, all because some people want to make themselves popular by uploading albums on there internet sites.

On average record companies loose approximately £10,000 per release by internet piracy alone.

The only way the products will get better is if we stamp out internet piracy.

When we started to stamp out internet piracy over 2 years ago, we asked most sites why they do it, the most popular answer we had was:

“Make themselves popular”.

That’s why ALL major sites support all the albums & Labels we service.

We currently operate a 94% success rate. (Information last updated 21 July 2004)

FACTPOINT: Muzik-Knightz can have your album off all 135 websites within 45 minutes.
